Eels Creek to High Falls: Off-Grid Hike Worth Every Step

There’s something magical about lacing up your boots and heading into the woods — especially when the destination is High Falls, one of North Kawartha’s hidden gems.

Starting from Eels Creek, we followed the well-trodden trail through thick forest, over exposed rock, and alongside rushing water. The sound of the creek kept us company as we hiked deeper into nature, completely unplugged from the noise of everyday life.

This off-grid hike gave us everything we needed: fresh air, a little challenge, and that perfect moment at the top where the falls come into view — crashing over ancient stone into the misty pool below.

We’re grateful to live a life where adventures like this are right in our backyard. Whether you're visiting or living off the grid like us, this trail is a must-do.
